To begin discovering your French ancestral history in France, and for me to ascertain your specific requirements, I offer an introductory no obligation consultation by video chat.

Following consultation and analysis of the information you provide; I will undertake initial research to determine the extent of your project after which I will send you a quote tailored to your specific requirements. If accepted, I will forward a contract to be signed, and research will begin. 

I will keep you informed of my progress at regular intervals.  Progress may be communicated by email, phone or video chat or a combination of both taking into consideration time zones and schedules of both the client and genealogist. 

On completion of your project, I will write a report delivered as a Pdf including copies of documents, source citations and translations.

What sort of information can normally be found in a French civil marriage record established after 1792? 

• The date, specifying the day and time of day.
• The name, and age of the groom. The grooms date and place of birth. His occupation and place of residence. If he is of majority age or not and if he has been widowed or divorced.
• The names of the grooms' parents, their ages, occupations, if living or deceased, if present at the marriage, if consenting to the marriage, their place of residence.
• The same applies for the bride and her parents.
• The dates and place of the publication of marriage bans.
• If a contract was established and if so, the name of the notary and the notary's address.
• The legitimisation or recognition of a child born prior to the marriage, the child being either of the couples' union, the child of a previous union, the child of someone other than the couple.
• The names of witnesses, their age and occupations and their relationship to the bride and groom.
• Signatures or marks in lieu of a signature where it is indicated the person does not know how to write.

Prior to 1792 parish records still provide enough information to successfully trace your family through the centuries. These records may also include:

•  Papal dispensation for marriages between cousins of the 2nd, 3rd and 4th degrees of consanguinity.

Every client request is unique.  Someone may want a look up, another their family tree traced as far back as possible. My fees are established after consultation with the client and are determined by the client's project type, difficulty or complexity and for the time invested in research, deciphering, analysis, translation of documents and of the accompanying report. 

Fees are charged in Australian dollars.

A 50% deposit is required for each project. The balance is due upon completion.  

PAYMENT The accepted method of payment is PayPal. Fees apply on all PayPal transactions.  PayPal offers the option of payment with either a debit card or credit card.  You can use this payment method regardless of whether you have a PayPal account.
