The genealogist is bound by an obligation of means not of results. While every effort is made to obtain the desired result for the client it may occur that documents concerning a person cannot be found. An example of this is the Franco-Prussian War that culminated in the Siege of Paris 1870-1871 during which time 8 million records were destroyed and for which only a third have been re-established. Therefore, a genealogist cannot guarantee that a person or document can be found.   

The frequency of a progress report is dependent on the nature of the project. Progress may be communicated by email, phone or video chat or a combination of both taking into consideration time zones and schedules of both the client and genealogist.

The final report is delivered in digital format.
